Day 17. This is probably the last day I will hit big numbers. I'm at the point in my #NaNoWriMo WIP where I now need to fill in lots of details. My story took a hard right turn last week and I started writing backstory. The backstory is adding a really interesting layer that was missing in the first draft and I'm happy to say that, even though it's a little cheesy right now (because it's super rough draft pantsed material), I think it's going to be a perfect addition to the story. My goal in the next week is to solidify time and place for each third of the story. Fortunately, I'm working in a relatively short period of time and primary location... 60 years and Central Park, #NYC. So many gorgeous bridges and points of interest in the park that I can write into my story. I was going to put my characters in the same place in the park as their favorite place to be, but I think I'd like to write about lots of them! And I really think I need to go back for another visit.
